We’ve written about Andy Frost and his insane Red Victor 3 Vauxhall plenty – just check out here and here. Andy’s hot rod is a true, street-driven machine that makes over 3,000 horsepower, yet retains headlights, tail lights, wipers, and the works, and rocks incredible elapsed times.Â
So incredible, in fact, that he just re-set the world street-legal vehicle’s quickest dragstrip pass down to an eye-popping 6.40 at over 225 MPH at the Euro Finals at Santa Pod Raceway. Beware – there is a bit of salty language in the video, but we’d have to say that it’s well-earned.
In light of the fact that Tom Bailey just made Hot Rod Magazine’s Drag Week torture test 1,000 mile tour and averaged a killer 6.833 elapsed time over the course of the event, the debate is on (as it rightfully has been over the last few years) as to just who has the most awesome street car in the world.
Andy’s Vauxhall is powered by a wicked 539-cube engine built by Marc Lamude and boosted by a pair of Precision Turbo Gen2 91mm turbochargers controlled by Turbosmart wastegates. Lenco‘s transmission and Neal Chance‘s finest torque converter help to transfer the power to the track, and Frost relies on MoTec engine management to make the whole thing come together. He’s assured us that 6.30’s and 230-plus MPH are only another trip to the dragstrip away.
Now, the question is…will he drive it there? We’re not sure how far Andy lives from the track, or whether he’d be willing to take us up on that challenge, but if you do, Andy – make sure to shoot good video. Your American friends are in awe of your achievements!
