So what exactly is Glenn Everitt’s Man & Machine? Think Car Crazy with an enthusiastic Australian host that is more hands-on and hardcore; in one episode, for example, he drives a nitro-fueled Funny Car. What we enjoy about the show is it gives a glimpse into a car scene from county that seems just as nuts about cars as we are in the States. Although Holden plans to cease domestic Australian manufacturing operations in 2017, the GM-based company has provided that country with muscle cars that are all their own and this show does a good job of showcasing some cool ones.Â
In the episode posted above, Everitt visits Heathcote Dragway in Victoria for some drag racing and meets up with the Kol Denysenko, the guy who had purchased his low 10-second twin-turbo LS-powered Holden Monaro a couple years back. He offers the chance for Glenn to make a few passes in it for old time’s sake and best part of the video is during the in-car view of that run.
The vid starts with Everitt explaining burnout procedure as he suppresses his excitement, then, he launches the car and you see the adrenalin kick in. The host gets this wild look and it’s almost like a “F#$@ yeah!” forced itself out of his mouth as the Monaro pulled into the tens. It’s an honest scene that makes any idle drag racer stuck behind their computer grin ear to ear.
