Judging by all of the emails and social media messages, you guys have been champing at the bit to know who won the 1,200-horsepower Gen-III HEMI giveaway we teamed up with Summit Racing and Late Model Engines on. Well, we finally have all the “I”s dotted and “T”s crossed on the paperwork with our winner and can announce that Bill Stuber of Long Island, NY will be taking delivery of this magnificent piece of machinery.

Talking with Bill about his plans, he’s got some pretty cool ideas on what to put the engine into. Bill’s first idea is a Factory Five Racing Speedstar hot rod, as it has an option straight from the factory to house a Gen-III HEMI engine. However, as we talked, and the issue of hood clearance came up, Bill started to consider one of Factory Five Racing’s ’35 Hot Rod Truck, since it too has provisions for mounting a Gen-III HEMI, and can be run without the hood, making hood clearance a non-issue.

Whatever home he decides on for the engine, it’s safe to say that 1,267 horsepower in a 2,400-pound chassis is going to make for an insanely fun ride. At the time of this article’s publication, the engine is en route from Houston, Texas to the Empire State, where our winner will get to lay his eyes on the engine, in-person, for the first time.
