Looking as if it has been pulled out of a drag racing time caplse, this perserved 1969 Plymouth Road Runner has turned up for sale on Jesse James’ eBay store, item #121188551350. This Road Runner lived an adrenlanine filled past life as a drag car in the 1970’s and since then, the Mopar has remained largely untouched. According to Mr. Jesse James, in it’s heyday the car was owned by an outlaw motorcycle club member and was capable of performing 10 Second passes in the 1/4 mile.
Underneath the hood sits a vintage racing 440, that was still able to turn over as of a year ago. Judging from the pictures the 440 seems to have remain untouched since the 70’s, it has a vintage Moroso oil cap and perhaps a few vintage speed parts. The car used to have a 727 Torque flight transmission however, Jesse pulled it so he could use it for another project. The car has a tubbed 4-link rear suspension and a full roll cage in the interior. The car was lightened with fiberglass doors, front fenders and a 70’s style shaker hood.
The Road Runner's interior and built 440.
This Mopar muscle machine also has a few vintage speed stickers and an old faded shop logo on the back bumper. This Road Runner is the perfect perfect platform to build a satanic drag car or to build a street racing machine and live like two lane blacktop. The car is in Austin, Texas, as of now there are a couple days left with the bidding is at $6,000. What are you waiting for? Pay up Sucker.
