In 2016, EKanoo Racing has gone from a known program to some to a world-wide sensation in drag racing. The team, based out of Bahrain and owned by Ebrahim Kanoo, an automotive entrepreneur in his home country, have blasted the record books in everything from their GT86 Pro Import car to his turbocharged GTR and more.

The absolutely gorgeous body lines of the Lexus will be an aerodynamic monster for the EKanoo Racing team.

As the 2016-2017 Arabian Pro Series, with an eight-race schedule between both the Bahrain International Circuit and Qatar Racing Club draws near, EKanoo Racing has assembled an all-new car for competition, a 2016 Lexus RCF for Pro Modified competition!

The base chassis was built by the professionals at Jerry Bickel Race Cars in Missouri and was then shipped over to Bahrain, where the remainder of the build has been completed. EKanoo Racing has created the custom molded carbon fiber body to replicate the Lexus RCF’s sleek lines and added some aerodynamic flares for a performance factor, all being accomplished in-house at the EKanoo shop.

EKanoo Racing built this entire car in house, including the paint, wiring, plumbing, assembly, fabrication and everything in between. Just goes to show what kind of team that Ebrahim Kanoo and Haider Koozahd have put together.

When the team announced the car was being built, social media exploded with conversation regarding what powerplant the team might choose. Would it be another import-based engine like the already record holding GT86 or something different? The skilled team at EKanoo called another bear in their own right, Pro Line Racing in Ball Ground, Georgia, for one of their 526 cubic inch HEMI engines that will be paired with a set of Precision Turbo and Engine turbochargers. Tuner Shane Tecklenburg has put together a MoTeC M150 system to keep the engine and power management all under wraps, while Eric Luzinski will be managing the clutch package for the 4,500-plus horsepower monster.

The EKanoo Racing braintrust, led by team manager Haider Koozahd, is one of the most stacked and talented groups of individuals anywhere on the planet, with the aforementioned Shane T and Luzinski, along with fabricators and tuners, Jamie Miller, Josh Ledford, and car chief Tim Davis, all playing a role in the program. These individuals add to an already talented team in Bahrain that fabricated, painted, wired, plumbed, modified, crafted and assembled this beast from a bare chassis to race-ready in less than five weeks.

Just a few days ago, the Pro Line Racing HEMI was stuffed between the frame rails and partnered with the twin Precision turbochargers.

To evolve from a basic rack of piping to a full-on, race-ready Pro Mod in five weeks is nothing short of astounding and just proves the point of the work ethic and knowledge from the EKanoo Racing camp. With such a braintrust on this machine, we expect to see big numbers right out of the gate. EKanoo is looking to hit the track very soon for some pre-race testing before Round 1 of the Arabian Pro Series kicks off next weekend, November 11-12th in Bahrain.
