Is there anything more exciting than a save that’s worthy of legend status? Sure, side-by-side races are great, and so are big record runs, but what gets the crowd up on their feet and their hands together in applause greater than a guy (or gal) saving their whip from certain destruction?
We’ve all seen it — accidents that should’ve happened that often just defy all laws of inertia and pure logic, made possible either by sheer skill or a dump truck-load of luck. But no matter how they go down, it’s always entertaining.Â
But what makes one epic save better than the next? Well that’s purely up to personal opinion, but the crew over at Urban Hillbilly, who have probably acquired more drag racing footage through the years than Quaker has oats, put together ten of the finest saves in their archives to help beg the question: which killer save is the best?
Many of these saves are quite traveled on the web and may be familiar to you from previous years, from Jason Scruggs sideways tilt at 195 miles per hour, to the nitrous-fed Willys that did everything but turn on its roof, Alex Hossler somehow missing both walls in his Pro Extreme Camaro, to Chad Henderson getting up close and personal with the concrete in Georgia. All incredible saves in their own right, with perhaps little more than a scrape on the paint job between them all.
So which of these is the most impressive, in your opinion?
