Quarter-Max has stepped up and started offering tethers that solve that issue in one kit. With multiple lengths available, they cover just about every exhaust combination you can think of, and they also offer peace of mind since you’ll know there’s no chance of the collectors exiting the car.

The QUARTER-MAX Clamp-On Tether System is NHRA accepted for the new NHRA Collector Tether rule for 2014 requiring all slip-on Header Collectors for all classes in the NHRA to be tethered. Quarter-Max Clamp-on Tether System: Each kit will do one pair of headers for one car.

The kit consists of:

• (2) Stainless Steel Primary Tube Clamps – specify size
• (2) Stainless Steel Collector Clamps – specify size
• (2) 3/32” Stainless Steel Tethers – available in 3 different lengths (11-1/2”, 15-1/2”, or 19-1/2”).  

Replacement parts are available and are sold separately: Primary Tube Clamps – Collector clamps – ¼”-28 metal lock nuts – 11-1/2”, 15-1/2” and 19-1/2” Tethers.
