Coming off a record-breaking Sport Compact Challenge this month, Orlando Speedworld Dragway is set to bring back a familiar class to the World Street Nationals. “Super Pro Street and World Street Nationals go hand in hand,” says track manager Sydney Marshall. “Several competitors approached us about the potential of a class that could draw a diverse amount of cars. With the rising cost of living and expenses, many racers don’t want to travel unless they know they can be competitive.” In this class, we plan to have competitors from Pro Stock to Import,” says Marshall. Nokomis Beach native Mike Reynolds plans to bring his blown alcohol Chevrolet Nova that previously ran at Raceway Park in New Jersey. Another familiar name stepping up is a Felix Garcia, a staple at the World Street Nationals. “We wanted to create a class that many could compete in, without having to empty their pockets. It’s all about having fun and keeping our sport alive.”
Just a few of the types of cars that will compete at the World Street Nationals.
Veteran event promoter and tech guru John Sears helped build out the rules for this new class, which are posted below. For more information you can visit https://raceosw.com/dragway/schedule/.
