Installing the QA1 Pro Coil System, or any coilover in four minutes? A coilover is a type of shock that incorporates a coil spring as a single unit. Some come from the factory fully assembled, while others require you to mix and match to get the ride quality you want. The right coilover will also allow you to adjust both ride height and stiffness, simply by turning a nut, located near the bottom of the shock. Some of the more high-tech units even allow you to adjust the damping force of the shock.
The video of this installation is roughly four minutes long. While it doesn’t show the complete installation, it does hit the highlights. It doesn’t show the assembly of the QA1 coilovers, however, assembly of the coilovers is a straightforward process.
What the video focuses on are parts of the installation procedure that might confuse people. The video shows you how to install parts like the upper and lower mounting brackets that come with the kit.
The video also gives you some information regarding the installation of the QA1 Pro Coil System on a GM B-Body that is essential, but often overlooked by both the installer and the guy writing up the installation instructions. For example, it tells installers to only disconnect one side of the factory trailing arm at a time to keep the axle from twisting. This is the kind of information that typically only a professional installer is going to know.
