Who in their right mind doesn’t love a good wheelstand? We here at StangTV certainly do as we’ve shared our favorites with you over the years, and this one just earned a spot on that list. The scene – Thunder Valley Raceway Park in Red Springs, North Carolina. Tab Jordan takes the line in his gorgeous Mustang, which sounds quite healthy and is certainly capable of 150-plus trap speeds as evidenced by the parachute out back. 

Just after launch, the pinion climbs the ring gear, the car goes up, up, and away, until all four tires achieve liftoff at the 20-second mark of the video.

The situation escalates as the car nearly lands on its side – only a stroke of luck allows him to land on all four wheels.

After crashing down to earth, we can see that the left-front wheel assembly has seen better days, but at least Jordan kept the car off the wall and off the roof; suspension parts are cheap compared to replacing sheetmetal. 

This wheelstand video reminds us of one we covered just last fall from Cecil County Dragway where Jacob Conant went for the ride of his life – it’s almost identical how the cars get out of shape, right down to collapsing the front wheel and nearly sending the car onto its roof.

Luckily, Tab Jordan’s Mustang survived this one without too much damage. Perhaps the best part of the video is the YouTube comments section where all manner of uninformed and unintelligent folks feel the need to weigh in on the video – but be forewarned, there are some NSFW and not-so-nice comments in there.
